As part of its Naija Corpus Program, IFRA-Nigeria will organise a 5-day workshop at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. The participants will be trained by Professor Bernard Caron to use PRAAT, specialized software for phonetics, to transcribe, translate, annotate, and time-align linguistic data. The aim of IFRA-N Naija Corpus Project is to produce a 6-hour corpus of oral Naija (aka Nigeria Pidgin) for further linguistic studies meant to produce a reference grammar and a dictionary of the language.

• Mr. Olusoji D. WUSU, a student and research assistant at Lagos State University, Lagos, Nigeria.
