French-British coordination attempts to enact the division of sovereignty between mandatory Syria and Transjordan
Dr Phillipe Bournaud is a historian and assistant professor at the University of Lyon III. He is a specialist in the history of medicine in the Middle East in the late Ottoman Empire and completed his doctoral dissertation at the University of Aix-en-Provence on medical professionalization in Late Ottoman Palestine, Syria and Jordan. His current research is now focusing on the production of borders between mandatory Syria, Transjordan and Palestine, and the history of international prohibitions in the mandates of the League of Nations.
